Jeremiah 17:7-10 KJV
(7) Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
(8) For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
(9) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
(10) I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
The life of Samson is one we can learn so much from It is a story told for today.
The name Samson ironically means “man of the sun” in his day he was the Superman, but he did not get his power from the S_U_N but the S_O_N in the F_A_T_H_E_R.
His story gives us the first and only riddle ever recorded in scripture.
It is how I confirmed the discovery the LORD led me into Egypt to find the sweetness was in the Lion lying in Egypt and knowing where AMERICA had placed HIM in relationship to our kings chosen by the people and not the priestcraft.
It begins with God’s covenant with Samson, as revealed by the angel to his parents when announcing his birth. His father is name is Manoah inquires of the angel who appeared to his wife what is your name and the angel replies “Why ask of my name seeing it is a secret.” another name in the story also is left secret, and that is Manoah’s wife the woman who bore Samson.
Judges 13:3-4 KJV
(3) And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
(4) Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:
This was around 1081 BC that the angel made this announcement.
Off the website Medlineplus.gov of today, the following is found.
Pregnant women are strongly urged not to drink alcohol during pregnancy.
Drinking alcohol while pregnant has been shown to cause harm to a baby as it develops in the womb. Alcohol used during pregnancy may also lead to long-term medical problems and birth defects.
When a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, the alcohol travels through her blood and into the baby’s blood, tissues, and organs. Alcohol breaks down much more slowly in the baby’s body than in an adult. That means the baby’s blood alcohol level remains increased longer than the mother’s. This can harm the baby and can sometimes lead to lifelong damage.
Judges 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
It was God who placed in him the desire for a Philistine woman to get him to fit in amongst the Philistines to bring about their destruction. He ignored his parent’s plea not to marry this woman from Timnath. In other words, he does not honor his parents as outlined in the FIFTH commandment but rather his own heart, which gets him into trouble, why would God want this?
Parents know their children best. Usually, they can tell who is suited for their child whether it be a man or woman who is the right person who will make them the happiest and you really want to get along with your inlaws, so you don’t go breaking laws and saying the wrong things causing hurt feelings.
In the case of religious people, they seek like-minded so that they will be equally yoked.
In the case of Samson Judges 14:4 But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
God wanted it because he wants to deliver Israel from the pagan culture of the Philistines who were idolators and knew HIM, not, Israel is God’s first and only love and through her proves HIS greatness.
For Samson, the woman from Timnath is his first love, the woman he marries. On the way to spend time with her at her home, he stumbles upon the lion and kills it. He is there for some time with this woman when he heads back to his parents; he comes back upon the lion that has a hive built within it and plenty of honey to give to both his parents, so we know some time has passed that they were courting.
What we perceive is love may be, in fact, a betrayal of the enemy exploiting our weakness to keep us from a relationship with God. As Christians, we try to find the good in all; unfortunately, not all are good. We should not trust our heart, but the word and the teachings it reveals while the world tells you to trust your heart God reveals it is wicked and who can know it Jeremiah 17:9?
Samson is betrayed by both his father in law and a friend whom the father in law set up to be with his wife, thinking Samson hated her for telling the answer to the riddle to them. Samson made good on his promise of Judges 14:12 And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
He kills thirty men in Ashkelon, a Philistine province, and gives them their clothes. He was angered and went to spend time at his father’s house, and usually, that is where we go when we quarrel with our mate; obviously, he was there too long, so his father-in-law gave his wife to another man his friend. His father-in-law pleaded with him that he could get a finer woman for him because he felt Samson hated her for revealing the riddle.
This again angers him more as his woman is given over to another. It is how God feels when we try to seduce Israel to be with idolators. Samson ties torches to the tails of three hundred foxes whom he had to trapped, so this anger is brewing inside him. You don’t catch three hundred foxes overnight. It may take days even weeks, and he is seeking to get vengeance because his first love was taken from him and given to another he sets their tails on fire and sends them running through their food supply. This angers them, and they go about finding how to destroy this Superman.
Judges 15:6 KJV
(6) Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.
The lesson doesn’t mess with another man’s wife!
Samson slaughters more Philistines for this act of burning his first love.
Then the Philistines sent soldiers to camp in Judah, and the men of Judah went up to enquire of why they were there. Judges 15:10 And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.
Did I tell you about cannibalism in the tribulation the beast loosed from the pit is coming it was common in Noah’s day the giants ate men. God is allowing it to happen to them what they did to the Son of God? Daily HIS enemies swallowed HIM up, and they try to get HIS first love to sleep with idols, and Pentecostals assist in this betrayal. – Just saying.
Judges 15:11 Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? What is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.
That seems to be a theme in war. The truth is to find the peace you look for; you must fall in love with God. The opposite of war is love, and that brings peace.
Samson’s own people bound him and sent him to the Philistines, where he breaks his binds and slays a thousand of them when the Spirit of the LORD came upon him. Jesus is given over to Rome to be scourged by the Priests of the temple. HE breaks the bonds of death and slays many demons because of it. Samson uses a jawbone of an ass to slaughter thousands of Philistines, so don’t feel you cant destroy thousand of demons. God can use even the jawbone of an ass, as he uses even me. – Hey, wait a minute???
Samson is motivated by feelings and emotion not by wisdom Solomon had not yet been born, so Samson may have nice hair but does not know the proverbs concerning divas seducing men away from God. We find him getting a harlot Judges 16:1 but remember his life does not end well. The LORD chose him, and we must still honor the call and the purpose of the call. Is he in heaven? The answer is yes because it was after the crucifixion Jesus set those in Abraham’s bosom free to join HIM, including all those Prophets who died on the wrong side of the atonement. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t opened up a Barber Shop.
The Gazites (Philistines of Gaza) got wind of him with the harlot, and they bound him to the doors of the gates of the city, which were built for defense, plotting to kill him the next day. Only before morning, he pulls the gates down and the posts that attached them and carried them away on his back. Judges 16:3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
Lesson learned real men of God could not be bound by demons. So the enemy uses lust to blind them instead because it is subtle, and the heart wants what the heart wants. Often lust is mistaken for love. True love cares about the other person’s soul, so when I hear of same-sex relations I know that it is not complete love it cares not about the other’s eternal soul and the person does not love God with all their heart mind and soul. We don’t take into heaven those not made clean by the blood of Christ. To claim you are a Christian in this lifestyle reveals that you do not love the Father as Jesus loves the Father and that the love of the Father which is the SON of God is not in you. Jesus did not address it while HE was here; HE addressed in Genesis 19, and the Jewish people were given warning concerning it in the law of Moses.
Christ frees us from the curse of the law, which is death but not the law. If HE is in us, HE is honoring the law, and if we stumble, HE is faithful to restore us if we ask HIM.
Delilah becomes the next emotional infatuation Samson falls for. The keyword is emotional, not wise.
Judges 16:6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
Lust can be a powerful thing here; she tells him she wants to know how to afflict him do him harm. Nothing sinister about this at all??? She even does what he tells her, and she calls them in to hurt him.
Judges 16:15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.
Judges 16:16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
I would have been gone after the third attempt and caught on this woman did not like me. That’s because my relationship is not in my hair but my heart.
This is stupid love in action, and we see it all the time. He literally becomes blinded to it because he has spent so much time with her. Kind of like the Pentecostals seduced by the harlot. They cannot see the gallows being built for their loved ones not saved, including them if Father leaves them behind because they seek to keep HIS Israel from HIM. So calling HIS people out of her and using his one-man, he begins to destroy the pillars built by the demons and saving many souls.
Food for thought and prayer don’t let the foxes burn your food source. God will get angry when you seek to give HIS first love to idolators.
Repent and come out of her. She is responsible for the NEW WORLD ORDER. Only they need a peace plan to complete it, and you just heard some of it.
